About Laura

From the mat to the business behind it.

My relationship with yoga started around 2012, during my first trip to India.

I spent time at the Sivananda Ashram in the south of India and loved the experience so much that I returned the following year to complete my yoga teacher training.

When I came back, I taught a few private classes and started volunteering in yoga studios so I could stay close to the community, keep learning and continue practising.

Before long, I started working in a studio and became a manager.

And that's when I discovered something I hadn't expected:

Laura Blaya

I loved the business of yoga almost as much as I loved yoga itself.

Where yoga meets business

My academic background is in Business Administration and Management, so I naturally became interested in the commercial side of running a studio.

Pricing. Revenue. Systems. Customer journeys. Memberships.

Why some classes work and others don't. Why someone buys an intro offer but never comes back.

I trained with Mindbody and began helping studios configure and improve their booking systems. From there, my work grew into almost every part of studio operations.

Over the years I've managed teams and schedules, worked in marketing, built workshops and online programmes, helped studios move their businesses online during COVID, worked across sales and retention, and created and managed 200-hour teacher trainings that sold out several times.

Somewhere along the way, I'd stopped simply working in yoga studios.

I'd learned how to run them.

Why I do this now

After becoming a mum, I stepped away from my career for a while.

Coming back gave me the chance to think about what I wanted the next chapter to look like.

The answer brought me back to the same things I've always loved: yoga, business and helping studios work better.

There are brilliant instructors and studio owners creating genuinely valuable spaces for their communities, but being passionate about fitness doesn't automatically teach you how to analyse your numbers, build a sales journey, configure a booking platform or improve retention.

And it shouldn't have to.

You don't need to become an operations expert to run a great boutique fitness studio. You need the right person in your corner.

The business behind the studio matters.

I believe deeply in what boutique fitness studios offer.

But for those spaces to keep existing, the businesses behind them need to work too.

They need clients. Revenue. Good systems. Clear decisions. And owners who have enough space to lead instead of constantly putting out fires.

That's why I do what I do.

I help take care of the business behind the studio, so studio owners have more space to take care of everything else.

How I work

Run better. Sell more effectively. Build systems that work. Give the owner some space back.

Let's talk about your studio.

If that sounds like the kind of support your studio needs, I'd love to hear what's going on.
